2018 - 2019 Golden Bear Quiz Bowl

Garrigan hosted their annual quiz bowl tournament on October 13, 2018.

On November 10 BGHS won the Top of Iowa Conference quiz bowl for the fourth straight year.

A second Garrigan team finished in 3rd Place overall.

BGHS competed against large schools from central Iowa.

October 13 Bishop Garrigan

BGHS won the championship, and 3 Garrigan teams made playoffs.


October 20 Ankeny Centennial

BGHS finished in the final four.

November 3 Algona High
 Varsity teams from BGHS finished #5 & #7 out of  18.

November 10 Bishop Garrigan (Top of Iowa Confernce)

Garrigan won the conference championship.

A second BGHS team finished in 3rd Place.

November 17 IQBL(Waukee)
Garrigan did not participate because of weather.
November 28 3-2-1

Bishop Garrigan scored 284 points
and finished near the middle nationwide.


December 8 South O'Brien

Bishop Garrigan competed in the JV division.

December 15 Spirit Lake

In spite of injury, Bishop Garrigan's varsity team
finished preliminary rounds with a perfect
4 - 0 record and were seeded second
going into playoffs.

March 7 ISU Virtual Quiz Bowl

Bishop Garrigan scored 455 points.

March 15 Community Quiz Bowl
The community Quiz Bowl raise $412 for the teams trip to nationals These People finished first, Gary Merril, Dave Roepke, Heidi Roepke, Joanne Roepke Bode and Beany Bode. These people finished second Jake Rosenmeyer, Devin Degen, Ben Degen, David Burrow, Marty Wadle.

April 1 Spring 3-2-1 Quiz Bowl

June 8 - 9 National Academic Championships

Bishop Garrigan sdefeated Watson Chapel from Pine Bluff, Arkansas and scored over 100 points in every game they played.

June 29 Alumni Quiz Bowl

As part of the school's 60th anniversary celebration,
Garrigan hosted an alumni quiz bowl tournament.
