The Bishop Garrigan quiz bowl team finished #10 in the
nation in the Knowledge Master contest, where they competed in early
February. The Bears had a score of 79, which was also the top score in Iowa
and the top score among small schools. The schools that did better than
Garrigan were from the Philadelphia, Richmond, Fargo, Cleveland, Pittsburgh,
Pensacola, Seattle, New York, and Chicago metro areas. Students competing
for the Bears included Abbi Heying, Aric Laubenthal, Joey Trainer,
Marguerite Fakler, Xander Darling, Brendan Plathe, Sam Plathe, Benjy
Trainer, Nathaniel Darling, Ben Greteman, and Nick Laubenthal. David Burrow
